Party Gods  [1982]

Playing with Marsha Law and The Crackdown had been fun, but when Gary Dolick called to pitch the idea of putting together a new

band I jumped at the chance.

The idea was that we wouldn't bust our butts trying be then next Elvis Brothers or XTC or The Shoes. Instead we'd just play our favorite songs and invite all our friends to come party. We were the Party Gods.

Rounding out this rather super group was Dave Langfitt and Gil "Gilvis" Margeson. And later when Jim Bracken moved back to Indiana from Seattle, he joined as well.

We got good gigs -- like The Vogue -- and written up in the Star.

But when we hit the stage we were a little less "party" than we thought we'd be. Probably we were disappointed (if not horrified) at how we sounded and performed.

No matter, though, as by the end of the year I figured out how to get back to the East Coast.

Once again, I found myself moving to Boston. This time to the dorms of Berklee College of Music.
